Supporting Ukraine

Nottingham CCLL closure - Newark & Sherwood Expansion

We have expanded the area we operate in to include the city of Nottingham and the surrounding area's which Nottingham CCLL used to encompass. It is unforunate that Nottingham CCLL had to sadly close, however most importantly our charities work in the area will continue as one larger entity.


A heartfelt farewell

Unfortunately, every year our adventure must come to and end. We would like to thank both the children, and all the volenteers for making this year so special.


Brackenhurst College and a meal to remember

Today we spent the day at Brackenhurst College, the children had a great time. The weather was foul and a meal out was just the ticket to make us feel comfortable afterwards.


Camping in the Peak District

Always a massive success,even when the weather is not perfect. Camping and walking in the Peak District!


Back to back adventures to remember

One of the big hitters each year, Center Parcs. Followed by a new massive hit at Mount Cook Adventure Trust!


Party time and theme park!

A lovely party and BBQ hosted by the Southwell Lions, followed by an exciting day at Twin Lakes theme park.


Time spent outdoors!

Friday and Saturday saw us head back in to Nottingham to play football at Nottingham Forest, followed by a trip to the seaside on Saturday and Sutton on Sea.


Rock climbing & Southwell adventure

Wednesday and Thursday saw us head in to Nottingham to go Rock Climbing, and on Thursday we were in Southwell to visit both the Minster and the Firestation.


Birds and boats.

The program of events now starts to build up speed as we head in to our first proper events on the schedule. A falconry display hosted by Hawks of Steele and sailing at Notts County Sailing Club.



Our children have safely arrived in the UK, and have mostly overcame any early nerves about their journey - if they ever had them. A low-key first few days are always best to ease them in to the adventure.


It begins!

Our children arrive tomorrow morning, before we focus on the event itself we need to tend to a heap of massive and heartfelt thank you's. The hard work is done, the efforts have got us once again to this stage... now it is time to have lots of fun!


Summer 2019 visit

It is that time of year, when we stop looking back to the previous fantastic visit and start the looking forward. We relight the fires and put in the hard work towards making the 2019 visit possible. We are always looking for more host family members. If you interested, please do get in touch!


A second fond farewell...

Bob Crampton has stepped down from his role as Chairman after 6 years in the role and 22 years within the charity. He has certainly put in the hours and earnt his second retirement! A massive heartfelt thank you from everyone, the Newark and Sherwood branch survived thanks to your hard work!


A fond farewell...

It is always very sad with the children must return home, bonds and friendships are built and many are not yet ready for it to end. It's been amazing, thank you to everyone for every piece of input to make it possible.


A walk on the wildside!

We had two days in the company of animials, amazing falconry with Hawks of Steele followed by Yorkshire Wilflife Park.


Walking, and more walking.

Taking the kids for a few fab days away at the Crookstone Barn in Derbyshire. 30km of walking and lots of lovely food. Memories.


Swimming, and more swimming.

he weather had been scorching, so it's time to get inside for a day to cool down. The only fitting place? The best swimming pool around at Centerparcs!


Old, familiar friends

Long time supports of the CCLL, the Southwell Lions, Southwell Firestation and Notts County Sailing Club were our next visits!

Opticare in Newark were absolutely amazing, we were very well looked after. The staff went above and beyond for our children.


Being energetic!

A wonderful session of rock climbing at David Ross Sports Centre at Nottingham Uni & a day out a wheelgate fun park.


It Begins

The children have arrived safely from Belarus and have been connected with their respective host families. Our activities begin.


A Car Boots full of goods!

Boots have been extremely generous in donating soaps, cleaning products and personal hygiene products for our children to take home with them.


What a Lush donation!

A simple shopping trip turned into a truly stunning experience. Thank you to the staff at Lush Nottingham for you kind donation towards this year’s visit.


Gonalston Open Gardens, supporting the CCLL

On the 10th of June, the village of Gonalston opens up its gardens to the public. For £5 entry fee you get access to all of the gardens and a classic car display. The CCLL is one of the beneficiaries of the event this year.
